Spring Term 2023-24
8th January – 9th February
We are delighted to share with you the Spring 1 Extracurricular Timetable at Mulberry Wood Wharf.
The clubs have limited spaces due to adult/child ratio requirements relating to the age group. If the clubs become oversubscribed, we will ensure there is a fair allocation of places in the clubs on offer. We will review the clubs and we will consider adding news ones depending on demand.
There is a small charge for some classes where we use an external company.
To book on the sessions please complete the Microsoft Form that we will be sending out at the end of the week. If your child is given a place in a school-led club, this place will be for the half term. If your child misses the club for two sessions, this place will be allocated to another child (unless there are special circumstances).
We appreciate your feedback and if there are any extracurricular clubs you would like us to offer in the future, please let the admin team know. We will do our best to accommodate the children’s interests.
Extracurricular Clubs will commence the week beginning the 8th of January 2024.
Coding Club – an introduction to coding: children will develop their coding skills by programming robotic toys. They will also learn how to use age-appropriate coding apps using the iPad.
Puppet making club – an opportunity to bring a puppet to life. Pupils will plan, design and make their own unique puppet. They will learn how to sew and join different materials. The group will then create their own puppet show building on their storytelling and creative skills.
Singing Club – a safe space for children to express themselves through performance and singing. We hope that this will be the start of the Mulberry Wood Wharf Choir. Songs will develop children’s understanding of tone, pitch, volume and beats. They will also learn how they can move their body freely to music.
Yoga club – A calming and relaxing end to the day. Using stretching and movement to connect the body and mind.
Contemporary Dance club – a style of expressive dance that combines a variety of genres of dance.
Sports club Archery – A trained sports coach will support children to develop their physical accuracy and precision skills. Also building on the school value of resilience, children keep trying and improving on their first attempts
Having fun with phonics club – a range of fun, engaging and mixed ability phonics games and activities that will build on the daily teaching of early reading
